It runs every year from December to January 6, but the 2026 dates are not announced yet. In 2025 it ran from December 18 to January 6, 10:30am to 9pm.

Weekday mornings and early afternoons before Christmas. The last few days before January 6, and weekend evenings, are the busiest, when families come for Kings' gifts.

What is the sugar coal?

Carbó dolç is black sugar candy that looks like coal. By tradition the Kings leave it for kids who misbehaved, and most kids get a piece as a joke alongside their presents.

How do we get there by metro?

The stalls run along Gran Via between Carrer de Muntaner and Carrer de Calàbria. L1 Urgell and Rocafort are right on the fair, and Universitat (L1, L2) is a short walk from the Muntaner end.

Is it OK with a stroller?

Yes, the side walkway along Gran Via is wide and flat. It gets crowded on weekend evenings and on January 5, when a carrier is easier.

Since 1877, Barcelona families have come here to shop for Reis. In Catalonia the big present day is January 6, when the Three Kings (Reis) leave gifts overnight, and this fair is named after them. Two long rows of stalls line Gran Via, selling toys, sweets, decorations and small gifts. For kids it is a chance to pick out a little something of their own, or to spot what might end up in the Kings' sacks. Look for carbó, black sugar candy made to look like coal, which the Kings jokingly leave for naughty children, and for stalls frying fresh xurros to dunk in thick hot chocolate.
