What you need to know
- Find the route on your walk home, about 15 neighborhoods run one, from Sant Gervasi to Poblenou, all on the map
- Sant Gervasi splits by age on Friday, October 30: 4pm to 6pm for kids under 8, 6:30pm to 8:30pm for older kids
- The biggest routes last year were El Clot (50+ shops), Poblenou (40+) and Travessera de Gràcia (about 40)
About
Shopkeepers in neighborhoods all over Barcelona turn their streets into trick-or-treat routes for Halloween and the Castanyada. Kids in costume go from shop to shop, look for the sign in the window, and ask for candy. The routes are free, and most run in the early evening around October 31. The map shows every route found, each with its time. Only Sant Gervasi, Guinardó and Barceloneta have posted 2026 dates so far, all on Friday, October 30. The rest show last year's times, and most shop associations post theirs in mid-October.
