What you need to know
- Every kid gets a vote: ballots go in a box at the cinema exit, and the votes decide the audience awards
- A starting age per session, from 3+ short-film programs to 10+ features, so check the festival's age guide before you book
- Mostly in Catalan: films are dubbed into Catalan, shown in the original with Catalan subtitles, or have no dialogue at all
About
Mi Primer Festival brings films from around the world to cinemas across Barcelona, from short-film programs for the youngest to feature films and classics like The Goonies for older kids. Every session is pitched at an age group. After any film, kids drop a ballot in the box at the exit, and their votes decide the audience awards. A mixed jury of children and film professionals picks the jury prizes.
