What's the best part for younger kids?

The daytime activities. The first weekend (September 12 and 13) carried most of the kids' program, and the last weekend had the schools' parade on Saturday and the giants parade and castellers on Sunday morning. Leave the correfoc for older kids.

Is there parking, or should we take the metro?

Take the metro. L4 to Llacuna or Poblenou puts you a short walk from most of the action, and parking is hard to find during the festival.

What is the correfoc like with kids?

It's loud, hot and chaotic. Older kids who like noise and sparks tend to enjoy it. If your child gets spooked by fire or crowds, skip it and catch the gegants parade and the castellers on Sunday morning instead.

Will there be food and drinks to buy?

Yes, bars and food stalls set up around the neighborhood during the festival. Bring water and snacks for the kids if you're staying through an afternoon.

Poblenou's neighborhood festival, run by the Coordinadora d'Entitats del Poblenou. Alongside the castellers, gegants and correfoc, there's a long kids' program of games, shows, concerts and parades spread through the neighborhood's streets and parks, and kids join in rather than just watch. The daytime events suit younger children; the fire run is for older kids who like noise and sparks.
