Which days are best for kids?

Saturday is the winner: the giants parade at 5:30pm (it's their 40th birthday this year) rolls straight into castellers building human towers at 7:30pm, and both wrap up before dark. With younger kids, Friday morning is the calm pick, with the kids' sports morning from 10:30am. The Sunday night correfoc is the wildest moment, save it for kids 8 and up.

Is this worth going to if my kids are under 8?

Yes, if you stick to the daytime. The program has family slots like puppet shows with hot chocolate and the kids' sports morning, and the giants parades are a hit with little kids. Skip the late-night concerts and the correfoc, which are loud and run late.

How do we get there by metro?

Take L3 (green line) to Liceu and walk down to Rambla del Raval, about six minutes, or L2/L3 to Paral·lel.

What's the correfoc like with kids?

It's a fire and pyrotechnics run in the evening, so it's late, loud and full of sparks. Only bring kids who won't be scared by the noise, and keep your distance from the devils. If your child gets overwhelmed easily, do the daytime parades instead.

Where can we eat nearby?

El Raval is packed with cheap, casual spots a short walk from the Rambla, though they fill up fast during the festival. Bring water and snacks for the kids if you're staying through the afternoon activities.
