How do we get up there with kids?

Take the FGC S1 or S2 from Plaça Catalunya to Peu del Funicular, about 15 minutes, then ride the Vallvidrera funicular to the top. The square outside the civic center is a five-minute walk from the upper station. The funicular runs past midnight, but check the last FGC train back to town before you go. Driving works too, but parking in the village is tight on festa nights.

Will my kids join the folk dancing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Calcetes Tradis play traditional circle dances from around Catalonia for the whole square to join, and nobody expects you to know the steps. Kids drift in and out, and the square has room to run around the edges.

Do we need to bring dinner?

Accepted Answer

Plan on it. The festa runs its paella contest at lunch on Saturday, so for dinner bring a picnic or eat in the village before you head up to the square. The folk set starts at 5:30pm, the funk and DJ set at 7:30pm, and the music keeps going after that.

What else is on this weekend?

Friday at 5:30pm there is a free family badge-making workshop in the same square, followed at 6pm by Eufòria Kids, a karaoke session for kids and their friends. Sunday at 6:30pm a havaneres concert closes the festa. Saturday morning has the Collserola tower climb at 9:30am and the paella contest at 10:00am, both with sign-up.
