Do we need to sign up?

Most routes are free and open to anyone in costume. Two of the 2026 listings ask for sign-up: Sant Gervasi, where the city listing asks families to book by phone at 932 546 265 (timed entry by age at Centre Cívic Vil·la Florida), and the Guinardó route, through Espai Jove Girapells. In Gràcia, signing up at the restaurant Amélie (Plaça de la Vila 11) was recommended in 2025 but not required.

How do we know which shops take part?

Look for the sign in the window: a poster in Sant Gervasi, pumpkins in El Clot and Can Baró, black and orange balloons in Poblenou. Some routes hand out a map or stamp card at an info point, like Rosselló 36 in the Nou Eixample.

Several routes give out a stamp card: collect stamps at the shops to enter a raffle. In 2025 that ran in the Nou Eixample, Sant Antoni, La Bordeta and La Marina.

The routes themselves are gentle. A few add a terror tunnel, like Horta's on Carrer de Maria Paretas (ticketed in 2025) and two shops on the Nou Eixample route. Both are easy to skip with young kids.

What you need to know

Find the route on your walk home, about 15 neighborhoods run one, from Sant Gervasi to Poblenou, all on the map
Sant Gervasi splits by age on Friday, October 30: 4pm to 6pm for kids under 8, 6:30pm to 8:30pm for older kids
The biggest routes last year were El Clot (50+ shops), Poblenou (40+) and Travessera de Gràcia (about 40)

Shopkeepers in neighborhoods all over Barcelona turn their streets into trick-or-treat routes for Halloween and the Castanyada. Kids in costume go from shop to shop, look for the sign in the window, and ask for candy. The map shows every route found, each with its time. Some still show last year's times, since most shop associations post theirs in mid-October.
