What's the best part for younger kids?

The daytime activities. The first weekend (September 12 and 13) had the World Cup games at passatge Cantí, hot chocolate at Parc del Centre, traditional Catalan games at Can Saladrigas, the color party at Pallars-Espronceda and the intercultural festa in the park. On the last weekend, catch the schools' parade on Saturday September 19 at 11am and the giants parade and castellers on Sunday September 20 at 11:30am. It's all free and outdoors.

Is there parking, or should we take the metro?

Take the metro. L4 to Llacuna or Poblenou puts you a short walk from most of the action, and parking is hard to find during the festival.

What is the correfoc like with kids?

It's loud, hot and chaotic, and it runs Saturday September 19 from 9pm, starting at Plaça Prim. Older kids who like noise and sparks usually love it. If your child gets spooked by fire or crowds, skip it and catch the gegants parade and the castellers on Sunday morning instead.

Will there be food and drinks to buy?

Yes, bars and food stalls set up around the neighborhood during the festival. Bring water and snacks for the kids if you're staying through an afternoon.

Poblenou's neighborhood festival runs September 10 to 20, organized by the Coordinadora d'Entitats del Poblenou.
