Can my 8-year-old go into the haunted passages?

No. La Isla Maldita, La Muerte Viva, Angkor, El Carnicero de Penitence and REC Experience all need kids to be at least 12 and with an adult, or 14 to go alone. For younger kids, Truco o Trato in the China area is the park's children's passage, and under 12s go through with an adult.

Is the park open every day during Halloween?

Yes, every day through November 15, opening at 10:30am. This weekend it closes at 7pm Monday to Friday (Oct 26 to 30), at midnight on Saturday, Oct 31, and at 8pm on Sunday, Nov 1. Check the park calendar for your date before you book.

Can we get there by train from Barcelona?

Yes. PortAventura World has its own Rodalies stop on the R17 and RT2 lines, and PortAventura sells tickets with transport included. Track works on the Barcelona to Sant Vicenç de Calders line sometimes mean replacement buses, so check Rodalies before you leave.

Where do the youngest kids spend the day?

SésamoAventura, where the Sesame Street characters put on "1, 2, 3... ¡Ya es Halloween!" and Oscar hosts "Cuidemos el Planeta". The Halloween Magic Bubble show in the Temple Màgic is another good stop for families.

The Halloween side of PortAventura Park is gentle for younger kids: Sesame Street shows, Truco o Trato (a walk-through with friendly ghosts that ends in candy), a soap-bubble show and an evening lake show with fire and fountains. Admission covers the whole park and the haunted passages cost extra, so it works best as a full day.
