Yes. It's contemporary circus, so the meaning comes from the acrobatics, clowning, and aerial work rather than spoken lines. Your kid follows what's happening on stage, not what's being said, so you don't need any Catalan to enjoy it.

Where do we park, or is the metro easier?

The metro is easier. Poble Sec on L3 is about a 5-minute walk, and Espanya (L1, L3, L8) is around 8 minutes. Street parking in Poble Sec is tight and slow on a July weekend evening; if you must drive, the car parks around Plaça d'Espanya are your best bet.

It starts at 7:30pm. Is that too late for younger kids?

It's a 60-minute show with no intermission, so you're out by 8:30pm. That's a late start for a tired little one, but manageable for school-age kids, especially in summer when evenings run later anyway.

Will there be anywhere to eat nearby before the show?

Yes. Poble Sec's Carrer de Blai, a few minutes from the venue, is lined with pintxos bars and casual spots that work well with kids for an early dinner before the 7:30pm start.

The 30th Winter Circus features contemporary circus arts centered on plant metaphors, directed by Escarlata (Bet Miralta and Jordi Aspa). A mixed cast of young and experienced performers demonstrates acrobatics, clowning, and aerial techniques across horizontal, vertical, and circular movement. The show draws inspiration from pioneer plants that survive harsh conditions, marking 30 years of the Circ d'Hivern at the Ateneu Popular 9 Barris, a former asphalt plant turned cultural space through community self-management.
