Five-year-olds can do it, but honestly, they'll need a lot of help from the adult with you. The soldering and wiring bits are fiddly, so if your kid has decent fine motor skills and can focus for 90 minutes, you're good. Younger than 5 and they'll get frustrated; older kids (7+) will have way more fun because they can actually build most of it themselves.

Do I have to stay in the workshop the whole time, or can I drop them off?

What's the parking situation at CaixaForum?

CaixaForum is on Montjuïc, and there's a paid car park underneath the building, but it fills up fast on weekends. The metro is easier: take line 1 or 3 to Espanya and walk 5 minutes. Parking stress isn't worth it for a 5:30 PM workshop.
