Name: Sea Turtle Release at Castelldefels Beach
Start: 2026-05-31
End: 2026-05-31
Location: Playa de la Pineda de Castelldefels

Question 1

Do we need to book ahead or just show up?

Accepted Answer

Just show up, no reservation needed. The only thing to grab on-site is a wristband for kids aged 6-12 if you want them in the dedicated semicircle area during the turtle release, but there are 350 of those handed out first-come-first-served at the info tent. If the wristbands run out, kids can still watch from outside the semicircle, so it's not a dealbreaker.

Question 2

How long should we plan to stay?

Accepted Answer

If your kids are into the workshops and exhibitions, you can fill the whole morning. If you just want to catch the theater bit at 11:30am and the turtle release at 12:30pm, you could do it in 90 minutes, but arriving early gives you time to grab a wristband without stress.

Question 3

What's the parking situation at Pineda beach?

Accepted Answer

Pineda beach has a car park, but on a Sunday morning in May with a free public event, it'll probably fill up fast. Your safest bet is arriving by 9:45am or taking the train from Barcelona, which is about 30 minutes from Plaça de Catalunya to Castelldefels station, then a short walk to the beach.

Question 4

What if my 4-year-old wants to come but isn't in the 6-12 age group?

Accepted Answer

Younger kids are welcome at the event and can do all the workshops and see the theater performance. They just won't get a wristband for the semicircle during the release, so they'll watch from the outer area instead. The whole thing is very visual, so most younger kids are fine with that setup.
